Great wines are made from great grapes grown in great vineyards.
We are genuinely concerned for our environment and our vineyard practices are designed to have minimum impact on our environment while also ensuring the sustainability of our crops.
We use Organic Management practices and have been fully certified organic with Biogro NZ since the 2010 vintage. The wines have been fully certified since 2013.
The vineyard site has a small layer of topsoil over-lying 25 metres of alluvial gravels. This combines with Martinborough’s great climate, high winds, low rainfall, intimidating spring frosts and long dry warm autumns, to produce accountant-shaking low volumes of high quality fruit.
The vineyard is mostly planted in Pinot Noir with a mixture of clones. This gives us 12 acres of Pinot Noir and 1 acre of Riesling.
